What is the Patina Promise?

The Patina Promise is our commitment to craftsmanship, longevity, and care.

 

Every Alezane piece is backed by a 12-month craftsmanship guarantee, covering stitching integrity, hardware function, and construction faults. Beyond this, we offer a lifetime care and repair pathway, because these pieces are made to be lived with, not replaced. (The lifetime care and repair will be quoted prior to works being performed)

 

Patina is not a flaw — it is the story of the life you give the bag. We stand behind the craft that carries it.

How should leather be cared for?

Alezane leather requires respect, not fuss.

 

Use the bag regularly, avoid prolonged exposure to water or direct heat, and store it in its dust bag when not in use. If the leather becomes dry over time, a light application of a quality leather conditioner is sufficient.

 

The Patina Care Guide is available on the website — because good leather doesn’t need perfection, only understanding.

Will the leather scratch easily?

Natural leather will mark — and that is intentional.

 

Minor scratches and surface marks are part of the patina process and often soften or blend with use. Rather than weakening the piece, these marks contribute to its character and depth over time.

 

If you prefer a bag that looks untouched forever, Alezane may not be for you. If you value a piece that evolves with you, you’re in the right place.

How does the colour of the leather change over time?

With use, exposure to light, and handling, the leather will deepen, warm, and soften in tone.

 

This gradual transformation is known as patina — a natural process that gives each piece its own identity. No two bags age the same, and that uniqueness is part of the design.

 

Your bag will not fade away — it will grow into itself.

Should patina be allowed to develop naturally?

Patina should be allowed to develop at its own pace, shaped by how and where you carry the bag. Over-treating or trying to preserve a “new” appearance can interfere with the leather’s natural ageing.

 

We design Alezane pieces with the expectation that they will be used, marked, and remembered. Patina is not something to prevent — it’s something to earn.

Orders & Shipping

What are the delivery timeframes?

Orders within Australia are typically dispatched within 1–3 business days and delivered within 3–7 business days, depending on location. Express shipping is available at checkout for those who require earlier delivery.

 

International delivery timeframes vary by destination, but most orders arrive within 7–21 business days from dispatch. You’ll receive confirmation once your order is on its way.

 

We ship promptly, but never at the expense of care.

Can an order be tracked?

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive a tracking link via email so you can follow its journey from our hands to yours.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We currently ship to Australia (complimentary shipping), as well as New Zealand,  United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore & Hong Kong,  at a reduced international rate.

Can a shipping address be changed after an order is placed?

If your order has not yet been dispatched, we may be able to update the delivery address. Please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to assist.

 

Once an order has been dispatched, changes are no longer guaranteed.

Are customs or import duties included for international orders?

International orders may be subject to duties and taxes depending on the destination country.

For shipments to the United States, duties and taxes are paid prior to delivery, with an allowance included in our pricing. In rare cases, additional charges may apply based on local customs assessment.

For Canada, Japan and Singapore, duties and taxes are typically applied by local customs authorities and remain the responsibility of the recipient.

Shipments to New Zealand and Hong Kong are generally not subject to duties, subject to local regulations.

 

Unpaid Duties & Returns
For international orders outside of the United States, if a shipment is returned due to unpaid duties or customs charges, the order will be refunded once the item has been received back in its original condition.

An administrative handling fee of $30 AUD may be applied to cover return and processing costs.

Can multiple orders be combined into one shipment?

Where possible, we’re happy to combine orders into a single shipment. Please contact us promptly after placing your orders so we can confirm availability before dispatch.

Care & Repair

Do you offer ongoing care or repair services?

Yes. We offer ongoing care and repair support for Alezane pieces.

 

While not all services are complimentary, we’re committed to helping owners maintain and extend the life of their bag. Each request is assessed individually so we can recommend the most appropriate next step.

What timeframes should be expected for repairs?

Repair timeframes vary depending on the nature of the work required and parts availability.

 

Once your request has been reviewed, we’ll provide an estimated timeframe before any work begins, so you can make an informed decision.

Is routine care available for Alezane pieces?

Yes. Routine care services may be available upon enquiry.

 

For interior cleaning or general leather maintenance, we often recommend consulting a trusted local leather atelier first, as this can be the most efficient option. If you’re unsure where to start, we’re happy to assist with guidance.

How are repairs assessed and supported over time?

All repair requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

 

Depending on the issue, we may request photographs or a physical inspection before advising on suitability, cost, and next steps. This ensures any work undertaken is appropriate and preserves the integrity of the piece.

How are repair costs determined?

Repair costs are quoted following assessment and depend on factors such as materials, hardware, labour, and the extent of the repair.

 

No work is undertaken without your approval once a quote has been provided.

Do you offer interior care or cleaning services?

Interior care and cleaning are not routinely performed in-house.

 

We generally recommend engaging a local specialist leather atelier or cleaner, as they are best placed to assess and treat interiors safely. If you require guidance or have questions, we’re always happy to help advise.

Product Information

What accompanies an Alezane purchase?

Every Alezane handbag is presented with care and includes a branded dust bag for storage and protection.

 

Select releases may also include additional items such as care information or Founder’s markings, depending on the edition.

Are Alezane pieces produced in limited quantities?

Yes. Alezane pieces are produced in batches, - considered, limited quantities rather than continuous mass production.

 

Some styles are released as Founder’s or limited editions, while others may return in future allocations. Availability is always intentional and never guaranteed.

What materials are used across the collection?

We work primarily with premium leathers, selected for their durability, character, and ability to age beautifully over time.

 

Material details — including leather type and finish — are listed on each product page to ensure transparency.

Are different sizes or colourways available?

Availability varies by design.

 

Some styles are offered in a single size or colourway to preserve the integrity of the silhouette, while others may be introduced in additional variations over time.

Is personalisation available?

Personalisation may be considered upon application, but cannot be guaranteed.

 

Where approved, personalised orders require an additional 14–21 days to complete. Due to the bespoke nature of this service, availability and placement are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Are Alezane pieces designed for everyday use?

Yes. Alezane pieces are designed to be used, carried, and lived with.

 

They balance structure with durability, allowing them to transition easily between daily use and more considered occasions. Signs of wear are expected — and welcomed — as part of the patina journey.
